Who is AZ Com.Sec?

        AZ Computer Security, LLC was founded by me, Jesse Shaffer. I started my career working with the United States Navy as a Cryptographer. I was exposed early on to solid IT practices, the benefits of training, and the risks related to handling sensitive data. After I left the Navy I continued developing my skills in the technical aspects of information security while earning my Computer Networking degree at ITT Technical Institute. While still in school I worked supporting a software used by pathologists across the globe exposing me to HIPAA (beyond my education) and other business best practices.
        After moving to a direct service position at another company I became involved in third-party IT support. Working at various IT management positions I have seen firsthand how IT spending can quickly spiral out of control. I also observed the skill gap in IT security among various local vendors. It quickly became clear to me that many local business owners could benefit from one-time consultations to bring down reoccurring costs, or to ensure proper compliance with government regulation (such as PCI or HIPAA.) However due to the skills gap this was an uphill battle for many IT providers. The risk of venturing into the security space was just too great.
        As a result, AZ Computer Security was born. My goal is to employ simple solutions to complex problems. Navigating compliance, information security, and business goals such as proper Return on Investment (ROI) can seem difficult. Pouring over long technical documentation and other publications can be tiring. My job is to take the technical and provide it to you in language you can understand. Let me leverage my experience in information technology to your benefit.
